Welcome To Our Home On The Water
The Sandra Faye
Sandra Faye Specs
My life has been an interesting one full of great adventures. Unfortunately these adventures were work related so my wife could not participate in them, except from a distance.
Just a couple of the many adventures were. Serving in Germany with the Army. Working for the National Science Foundation at the South Pole Station, Antarctica. Working with long range radar in the arctic circle for a military contractor. Doing volunteer work with electric power and safe drinking water in the mountains of Haiti.
Now I am retired and my wife is just a bit younger then I am. I want to go on another adventure, this time my wife and I doing the adventure together.
For this adventure we have elected to do the Great Loop, which is to circle the Eastern half of the United States by boat. This adventure is just over 7,500 miles long and will take about 14 months to complete, if all goes well.
We would like to bring our family, current friends as well as new friends along on this adventure, but the boat is way to small. However, we have come up with a way for everyone to come along with us. We have put up a web page called "More" where you can go and see more images of the adventure as we experience it. We may even be able to have a boat webcam facing front with access available 24 hours a day for virtual crew members, that is when we have enough virtual crew members to purchase the camera equipment and are within range of a network connection.
As we move along the loop I will be post new updates to everyone virtually coming along with us. We will then use the funds coming in from vertual crew members and sponsors to help cover our expenses like fuel, food, repairs and dockage.
This adventure should be interesting, a lot of fun and a lot of hard work. We are hoping to depart on this adventure in late June or mid July. Hopefully in the year 2020!
Meet The Sandra Faye
Meet The Sandra Faye. She is a 38 foot Bayliner MY (Motor Yacht). She was built in 1984 and is powered by a pair of 130hp Mitsibishi desiel engines.
Before we purchased her in 2017 she had been sitting on blocks in dry dock for two years.
<- 2017 Photos. #1 is Becky and I the day we bought it. Then 2 from the day after when we pulled off the winter protective shrink wrap.
